CHOSUN University of Korea open its campaign against Universities and Colleges Athletic Association (UCAA) champion Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) in the Federation School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP)-organized Philippines-Korea University Friendship Basketball Games which get underway today February 12 at the EAC Sports Center in Manila.
Gametime is 10:00 a.m. after a brief but colorful opening ceremony to be graced by Korean consular official and the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) president Go Teng Kok and BAP Executive Vice President Christian Tan.
Go Teng Kok will make the ceremonial toss, along with FESSAP officials, Burlington general manger Ruddy Tan and Norman Black, and BAP Secretary General Graham Lim.
Also invited to attend the opening ceremony are USCAA President Ariel Lladones, UCAA president Raoul Sia, CUSA representative Rooly Tumapat, PISCUAA President Robert Milton Calo and NCRAA representative Teddy Talens.
Prof. Robert Milton Calo of FESSAP will welcome the Korean delegation and their team officials before the start of the game in a simple introduction while host EAC President Jose Paulo Campos will give inspirational talk.
Other opening-day matches will pit Arellano University of NCRAA against Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) of PISCUAA at 11:30 a.m. and Philippine Maritime Institute (PMI) of CUSA against San Sebastian College Recoletos-Cavite of USCAA at 1:00 p.m.
The tournament is supported by Healthy Options, Air 21, Burlington Sock, and Gold Heart Pure Palm Oil and format calls for one round elimination with top two teams will play for the finals in a winner-take-all encounter.
